Democracy and Heritage: The Case of the «Espaço Memória Desembargador Luiz Cavalcante Lacerda de Almeida»
Abstract: This article discusses the implementation of the «Espaço Memória Desembargador Luiz Cavalcante Lacerda de Almeida» at the Regional Electoral Court of Pernambuco, in 2016, and its importance in disseminating the historical course of the Brazilian electoral process in its local dimensions and links with the national scenario through heritage objects. Furthermore, it discusses how the organization of these objects in the museum space linked to a narrative allows visitors to perceive the vote, now electronic, as a civilizational milestone and irrevocable achievement of the Brazilian population.
