This article aims to analyze the context and the bases that relate the parliamentary activity of the Lisbon Courts (1821-1822) and the political independence of Brazil (1822). We seek in this work not only to focus on the clashes between representatives of both sides of the Luso-Brazilian Empire until then, but to reflect on the theoretical, conceptual and contextual foundations that composed the sociopolitical framework of the early 1820s. The period listed - Liberal Revolution of 1820 in Porto, return of D. João VI to Portugal, Lisbon Courts and the Brazil’s independence - are the result of a process of conceptual enhancement and socio-political experiences.

Cet article vise à analyser le contexte et les bases qui relient l'activité parlementaire des tribunaux de Lisbonne (1821-1822) et l'indépendance politique du Brésil (1822). Nous cherchons dans ce travail non seulement à nous concentrer sur les affrontements entre les représentants des deux côtés de l'Empire luso-brésilien jusqu'alors, mais à réfléchir sur les fondements théoriques, conceptuels et contextuels qui composaient le cadre sociopolitique du début des années 1820. La période répertoriée - Révolution libérale à Porto, retour de D. João VI au Portugal, Cortes à Lisbonne et l'indépendance du Brésil - sont le résultat d'un processus d'approfondissement conceptuel et d'expériences socio-politiques.

Resumen

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el contexto y las bases que relacionan la actividad parlamentaria de las Cortes de Lisboa (1821-1822) y la independencia política de Brasil (1822). Buscamos en este trabajo no solo centrarnos en los enfrentamientos entre representantes de ambos lados del Imperio luso-brasileño hasta entonces, sino reflexionar sobre los fundamentos teóricos, conceptuales y contextuales que componían el marco sociopolítico de principios de la década de 1820. El período enumerado - Revolución Liberal en Oporto, regreso de D. João VI a Portugal, Cortes en Lisboa e independencia de Brasil - son el resultado de un proceso de profundización conceptual y de experiencias sociopolíticas.

Jônatas Roque Mendes Gomes, Universidade Federal Fluminense

Possui graduação em História (2015) e Mestrado em História Social (2017) pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. É Doutor em História pela Universidade Federal Fluminense. Tem experiência na área de História, com ênfase em História do Brasil Império, Pensamento Político Luso-Brasileiro e Teoria e Metodologia da História, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: pensamento político e social, constitucionalismo(liberal) no século XIX, conceitos políticos ibero-americanos, formação dos Estados Ibero-americanos, escrita da história e circulação cultural e de ideias. Integra o Grupo de Pesquisa História, Poder e Ideias Políticas (UERJ), o Laboratório Cidade e Poder (UFF) e o Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas Eulália & Bárbara (UFF).
