Abstract

Bulas e súplicas dão-nos a conhecer D. João I (1385-1433) como rei cristão medieval, servindo o reconhecimento internacional do reino e a sua organização eclesiástica, o bem espiritual dos súbditos e o governo de sua casa. Os “Monumenta Portugaliae Vaticana” reúnem os documentos necessários para esta avaliação inovadora.
