Documentary Information Science facing the challenges of the current reality

The concept of Research Gestalt is proposed to explain the transformations that scientific theories undergo in their development without losing their identity. The advantages of the Gestalt of research over other approaches such as Kuhn's paradigms, Lakatos' Scientific Research Programs, Laudan's research traditions, Foucault's episteme or Feyerabend's global theories consist, in the first place, in that its application is not the product of a convention of scientists. Secondly, it handles the concept of truth as an adequacy between saying and being and not as a truth by consensus. Finally, it allows to understand the changes in scientific theories not as absolute breaks where the new theory does not contain anything of the old one, but manages to reconcile scientific tradition with innovation.
