Calls for Papers

The Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP) invites for the presentation of original papers on specific research topics and focused on knowledge transfer.

Aiming to work on the value of science and its impacts on society, Cadernos IS-UP seek to build bridges between the university and the society, science and practice, research and social intervention. Papers shall present fresh data from research developed under a sociological and/or other social and human sciences approach. Papers with a focus, although not exclusively, on the following aspects will be privileged:
   - how can sociology and the social sciences contribute to address social challenges.
   - potentialities of research results to academic and non-academic agents.
   - uses of evidence-based practices among groups, institutions and other entities.
   - challenges of interdisciplinarity in the context of research and/or of social intervention.
   - role of research and social intervention in the processes of participation and empowerment of social actors.
   - intersectionality of knowledge and actions within the public and/or private spheres in addressing the problems and challenges in the society.

EDITORIAL POLICY
Periodicity: 2 issues per year.

Publication format: electronic format, in Open Access, with assignment of ISBN and Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

Review: blind peer-review process.

Evaluation and editing responsibility of the editorial team.

Submission: papers are permanently received, and proposals must be submitted on the journal’s website.
