Estudo histórico da imageria escolar em livros didáticos: discurso em torno das práticas de leitura da imagem
Abstract
This study aims to present a path of investigation developed during the doctorate program on linguistics and language sciences. The work focuses on the recurrence of use of images and imagery in textbooks used for teaching the Portuguese language in Brazil. The theoretical and methodological approach is oriented by studies in French discourse analysis and semiotics. After an analysis of 13 textbooks published from 1960 to 2010, the conclusion is that there has been a gradual increase of the use of imagery in textbooks, followed by an expansion of the theoretical concepts of language and text nowadays. However, we have observed that there is no in-depth theorization that questions the image as materiality of the discourse in teaching materials, as it has been done to the practices of reading related to the verbal text.
