Abstract

This articles proposes a postcolonial reading of L’étrange destin de Wangrin ou les roueries d’un interprète by Amadou Hampaté Bâ. Such a reading is particularly relevant as it highlights the pattern of ambivalence at the core of the novel while bringing light on its inner complexity as well as profound actuality. As it will be shown, this complexity can be apprehended in terms of both an economics and ethics of transmission.
